FIDENS environmental behavior is guided by the principle of sustainable development, defined by the United Nations (UN) as “meeting the needs of present generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
Mapping of all the practices adopted at FIDENS work is part of the company’s environmental management, in order to identify strong points and opportunities for improvement to be worked on over the coming years.
In 2007, FIDENS began to implement its Environmental Management System (SGA). Although the SGA is not yet fully implemented, the company has already adopted environmental programs that are recognized and recommended by international standards, including ISO 14001:2004, the international standard for environmental management. This is due to both the nature of its activities, which require a series of environmental licenses, and to the fact that FIDENS keeps a large part of its operations aligned with the guidelines of its clients. Implementation of the SGA is scheduled to be concluded in 2008, when the company plans to apply for certification by ISO 14001:2004.
